Vyasa’s first National Service Scheme unit with 50 students in collaboration with Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli had their special camp from 24/12/2018 to 30/12/2018 (Seven Days) at Nelkattumseval Village. Each day’s routine started with Yoga & Meditation.
Students visited each house and created awareness regarding education, importance of toilets, cleanliness, nutritious diet, care of parents etc. A free eye camp was held by Dr. Agarwal Eye Hospital. An integrated Exhibition with values was kept. Models were kept & Explanation was given by students. One day student’s procession with name boards of different values was held. Students were repeating all values to create awareness in the minds of village people. As a part of the programme, students cleaned Pulithevan’s Palace, Hr. Sec. School Campus (in & out) & one Church. 108 Ambulance, Fire service demonstration, blood donation were also held. College Chairman Sri. S. Velladurai Pandian gave a speech on “Caring of Parents “ – Apart from these, daily in the evening cultural programmes were held. Some of them were, qualities of a student, school, teacher songs, a drama on morality, debate on the requirement s of village to get its name & fame like Unity, Spirituality or Cleanliness. 3 colourful dances on Nellai Cheemai, Ayyanar, Deepa Nadanam were also held. The Guests & special invitees were Sri. A. Jayaraman, M.Com., Block Development Officer, Smt. Maragatha Manickkam, Head Mistress of Hr. Sec. School, Sri. Chandra Sekara Pandian & Sri. Ullamudaiyar and they gave their inspiring speeches. Chairman Sri. S. Velladurai Pandian, Managing Director Smt. V. Vellathai, Principal Dr. S. Nirmala Kumari, Programme Officer Dr. V. Nithyakalyani, Smt. D. Maheswari, Miss. Veilumuthu, Mr. Raja Rajan contributed a lot for the success of the camp. The village people also co-operated very well. During the valedictory function students shared their views about the camp. It was very useful, and a grand success.
