Vyasa’s Students Council General election was held on 06.07.2019, Saturday. It was conducted as per Indian Constitution. Various steps like nomination filing, deposit, allocating education based symbols, presenting manifesto, election campaign were held enthusiastically. Totally there were 40 contestants for 4 posts. On voting day, there were two booths. In booth number one Managing committee members, Principal, A.O, P.R.O, Teaching faculties & Non Teaching staff were casting their votes in front of special invitees like Dr. R. Vellaichamy, Mr. S. M.Pandian and Agents. In booth number two students put their votes systematically, passing names verification, ink keeping, ballot papers – voting etc. After that, all ballot boxes were sealed and opened during votes counting. Votes were counted in front of Agents with the help of Election Committee Members, & Professors. Results were updated then & there on the boards. Running commentary was given by Dr.Pandialakshmi. Finally 4 leaders declared elected. They were, R. Heerajaan as CPL, Ayisha Safika as ACPL, R.Ramya as sports secretary & N.Akila Rani as Asst. Sports Secretary. It was interesting to note that all the elected leaders belong to English department. The whole department staff & students felicitated their victory with crackers & sweets. Chairman Dr.S.Velladurai Pandian, Managing Director Smt. V.Vellathai, Principal Dr.S.Sakthivel Rani, and all faculty members congratulated the winners. Out of 40 contestants nine got their deposits & other lost it. It was educative, effective & thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.
